I think I've been going about it all wrong. Instead of making pieces in a grid, I make long stretches of ground/ceiling so I can have that cense of organic-ness I'm trying to get! I'll be back with a new setup. Hopefully this one will look right. for now though, you can see the stuff I'm NOT putting in game (or at least this one).
It just isn't working! I make stuff, it doesn't look like what I want! First off, it looks like holes instead of a fade in detail. Second; it's wayyyyy too grid like! I gotta figure out a way to do this better. I feel I've been wasting time making stuff I can't even use. At least I can save them for a different game! For now though it's back to the drawing board.

So my plan. Make art place holders so I can have a playable game. At the moment, I do have something playable, but it's soooooo boring to look at! The game need a face lift, and although it may not be finished work, it will look a heck of a lot better relatively soon. So here! Take a look at where things are at so far. I have the run animation of Terra, now I know her approximate size, and how she will look pixelated! And if I do say so, it aint too shabby lookin. Left is animation, right is how it will look finished, and top is colors. Along with the Terra's animations, I'm doing the tile set for the collideable ground/walls/ceiling. I'm trying to figure out an art style for it. Down below is the better of what I came up with. I ended up choosing the bottom left, though the top left was a close second. The reason why I chose the bottom left is, it looks more interesting to me. I don't know thought if it will look as good in game, but you don't get anywhere if you're always playing it safe! We got a color scheme! I think it gives a nice earthy feel while still standing out against purple backgrounds (main colors of the level are purples). It wasn't any of the four from before, but I think you would agree that this new one is the better one. Or maybe not! What do you say?
We got the main character! After some time messing around with ideas, we have Terra... well almost. Just choosing colors, then to make a pixelized version of her. But here, have some art! Let me know which one you like!
