There was an idea I experimented with a while back. I used 3D to create 2D pixel animations. The results were really nice, but I ended up re-doing a bunch of stuff. In the end it felt like I took longer to make it. But... maybe I should go back and try again. I've thought of a better way to go about it. On the next animations, I'll try out this new idea.
More Music Practice. Not much to say here, I've been studying some cool musicians I've found, but still have a way to go before I've made the music for the game. But While working on that I've been working on this animation. I gotta come up with a faster way of making this stuff.

Looking at this, it might be a little bit before I move on from this music study phase. I've still got a lot to learn. In no way do I expect to become a master overnight, but I'm hoping I can learn enough to create music I can be proud of. But, haha, looks like I have high expectations! So because of that, I'll be doing more studies. However, just because I need to focus more on music studies that doesn't mean I won't be working on the game. It just means I'm working on it a little slower. In line with that, here's a WIP for a new animation for the player! This is the animation that plays when the wizard gets away with your sandwich.
More music studies man! This week we worked on taking apart, re-creating, and analyzing old NES games. Since we are using a program that makes similar sounds, I thought it would be fitting. Honestly though the biggest thing I learned from it is I still got no clue what I'm doing.
But that won't stop me! We'll keep learning about music until we can make those sick beats yo! Along with music I worked a little on bugs, and more animations for Terra. After a few more here, she should be completely done! Next would be the wizard! That's right, I'm learning how to make music! Goin through all those tutorials, gettin down the fundamentals, and playin away on my keyboard!
Now I've had little bits of music experience here and there throughout my life. Trumpet classes in middle school, piano in high school. And I also played around a little with my electric guitar in college! But it's been quite a while since I've done anything musical, Plus playing songs and making them are 2 very different things. That, and I've never really learned music theory. But that all changes!!! For the last week I've been learning about music theory, and soon we'll start taking apart songs and learning how they work! Eventually we'll start making our own too! (the first few probably won't be too great, but they'll get better with time!!!) But other than music stuff, I've also knocked out bugs and problems that have come up from the playtest. P.S. To everyone who has played the game and given me feedback. Thank you so much!! You've all really helped make the game a lot better, and I hope you enjoyed what we have so far. |
